Along the way, we pause every 5 km to relax and interact with local traders, craftsmen, and farmers. These stops allow you to experience Sri Lanka’s countryside and its warm hospitality. As you ride, enjoy the fresh air and the scenic beauty surrounding you.

This temple has a fascinating history. In the 1st century BC, King Walagamba found refuge here while fleeing a South Indian invasion. Although the monastery is over 2,200 years old, none of its original artifacts remain. However, atop the rocky hill, you will find the ruins of an 18th-century Dutch observation post. The present temple, built during the Kandyan era (1473–1815), still holds deep spiritual significance.

By 5 PM, you’ll have time to explore the temple grounds and enjoy the monks’ evening rituals at 5:30 PM. A special personal puja has been arranged just for you. As the monk chants in ancient Pali, he will bless you and wish you good fortune. This peaceful ceremony offers a moment of reflection and spiritual connection.
