White water rafting in Kitulgala takes place on the lower Kelani River tributary on a 7 km stretch. There are 7 rapids in this lower stretch, ranging between Class I to Class III rapids. This place is perfect for first timers as well as adventurous who may be looking for something a bit more challenging. Some of the rapids are;

Class IV - Boulder Garden Run in Upper Kelani River
World universal rapids are categorized between Class I to Class VI. The Class VI is being similar to Niagara Falls.
Before every trip your guides give a comprehensive safety briefing and instructions for the activity. Rafters are given a chance to body surf down the final Class I rapid, followed by a relaxing swim and float directly back to shore.
