Visit the Islands of Rama's Bridge (Rama Setu | රාම් සේතු පාලම)

If you’re looking for a journey that blends myth, nature, and history, then Visit the Islands of Rama’s Bridge with CCT Sri Lanka—your expert guide to this legendary destination. Also known as Adam’s Bridge, this chain of limestone shoals once connected Talaimannar (තලෙයි මන්නාරම) in Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi in India. It has captivated travelers for centuries.

Steeped in the Ramayana (රාමායණ), the bridge is believed to have been built by Lord Rama and his vanara army. Over time, explorers like Marco Polo (මාකෝ පෝලෝ), Ibn Battuta (ඉබන් බතුතා), and Fa Hien (ෆා හියේන්) crossed this sacred path, adding to its storied legacy.

At CCT Sri Lanka, we take care of every detail—securing permits, coordinating with local authorities, and arranging boat rides. Additionally, we can provide a professional historian to accompany you (optional).

Keep in mind that permits must be approved by the Sri Lankan Navy and Wildlife Department. Therefore, we recommend booking at least two weeks in advance. While the process requires coordination, the experience will be well worth it.

As you approach Rama’s Bridge, prepare to be amazed by the stunning views and the migratory birds and butterflies that fill the skies. During the northern winter, these creatures travel from cooler regions to the tropical warmth of Sri Lanka.

While landing on the sand dunes is not allowed, we ensure a visually rich journey through the waters. A Sri Lankan Navy vessel will accompany your trip, ensuring both safety and a sense of reverence.

Exciting news: The Department of Wildlife Conservation will resume issuing permits starting May 15, 2025.Scroll to the bottom of this page to Reserve Now!
