Day 1: Kitulgala

Upon your arrival at the airport, we'll warmly welcome you to Sri Lanka and escort you on a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive to Kitulgala, the heart of adventure in Sri Lanka. Our team will be eagerly awaiting your arrival at the Adventure Center, where a delicious lunch will be prepared to fuel your upcoming adventures.
The first day will be dedicated to training and preparation. Learn the basics of white water paddling, develop essential teamwork skills, understand river safety, and master the art of camp craft. Choose your preferred boating option from our fleet of open canoes, sit-on-top kayaks, inflatable kayaks, or even join us as an active passenger on our Cataraft. After an exhilarating day of training, relax and unwind, ready for the adventures that lie ahead.

Day 2: Wasgamuwa National Park
A Day of Adventure and Exploration in Mahiyanganaya
Rise early for a light breakfast, fueling your adventure for the day ahead. Embark on a 5-hour journey to Mahiyanganaya, a picturesque town nestled amidst lush landscapes.
Upon arrival, begin your white water paddling adventure around 4 AM, navigating the exciting rapids and enjoying the thrill of the river.
After a day of paddling, set up camp on the edge of Wasgamuwa National Park, a pristine wilderness area. Gather firewood for the evening campfire, which will serve as protection against potential elephant encounters.
As darkness falls, enjoy a game of cricket, frisbee, or fishing (if you've brought your gear) on a deserted river beach. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the jungle, listening to the sounds of nature.
Plan for an early departure the next morning, ready for your continued adventure.

Day 3: Wasgamuwa National Park
A Day of Wildlife Exploration in Wasgamuwa National Park
Rise early to make the most of your day in Wasgamuwa National Park. The park spans the left bank of the river, while the buffer zone lies on the right bank. Today, you'll encounter a series of exciting rapids, challenging your paddling skills and adding to the thrill of the adventure.
As you paddle through the park, immerse yourself in the tranquility of the wilderness. Listen to the calls of birds, including raptors, hornbills, and peacocks, and observe the monkeys and buzzing insects that inhabit the park.
With a bit of luck, you may encounter sunning crocodiles or thirsty elephants, adding to the excitement of your wildlife spotting. Enjoy the priceless solitude of the wilderness, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
At the end of the day, set up camp on a deserted river beach, offering breathtaking views of the elephant corridor. Under the starry sky, enjoy a delicious dinner, share stories of your adventures, and fall into a deep slumber.
Throughout the night, the campfires will be kept burning, and guides will take turns keeping watch, ensuring your safety and comfort in this pristine wilderness.

Day 4: Farewell in Polonnaruwa
A Final Day of Adventure and Farewell
Today, you'll be awakened by the sounds of elephants crossing the river at dawn. This marks the final day of your paddling adventure, which typically involves a slower pace as you leave Wasgamuwa National Park behind.
As you paddle downstream, notice how the river widens and the dense jungle transitions into farmland. Witness the sand mining operations along the riverbanks, a testament to the country's development.
Embark on an early morning canoe safari to observe a parade of wild elephants crossing the river. Enjoy a section of the river known for its sunning crocodiles, a fascinating sight after a cool night.
By lunchtime, you'll reach your final canoeing destination. All your gear will be cleaned and loaded, ready for your onward journey.
