Intro
White water rafting in Kitulgala takes place on the lower Kelani River tributary on a 7 km stretch. There are 7 rapids in this lower stretch, ranging between Class I to Class III rapids. This place is perfect for first timers as well as adventurous who may be looking for something a bit more challenging. Some of the rapids are;
Class I - ...
Class II - Virgin Breast, White water & Head Chopper.
Class III - Butter Crunch & Killer Fall.
Class IV - Boulder Garden Run in Upper Kelani River
World universal rapids are categorized between Class I to Class VI. The Class VI is being similar to Niagara Falls.
Before every trip your guides give a comprehensive safety briefing and instructions for the activity. Rafters are given a chance to body surf down the final Class I rapid, followed by a relaxing swim and float directly back to shore. All rafting trips are conducted by certified and experienced guides. Our partnering company is the only company in Sri Lanka to use trained safety kayakers for rafting.
